Golf Sense – Practical Tips on How to Play Golf in the Zone by Roy Palmer is a fascinating book that any golfer, regardless of talent level, can benefit from reading. Based on Palmer’s preferred instructional technique, The Alexander Method, golfers are introduced to a detailed, well-written account of what it feels like to be “in the Zone” and how one can hope to replicate this feeling every time he or she steps on the tee box.
In every sense of the word, and as stated above, Golf Sense is detailed. While the reader may find himself re-reading the content once or twice before understanding what is being conveyed by the author, Palmer does a fine job of substantiating an abstract concept into words.
A frank discussion about a sensitive women's issue and how it impacts the golf swing
For over thirty years, I have dedicated my life to helping golfers of all skill levels gain a better understanding of golf in general and their golf swing in particular. To that end, the topic covered in this article, while sensitive, is one that I have discussed with countless ladies over the years. I have yet to have a single woman express being offended by the information I have covered with them.· I only hope you will read this piece with an open mind and consider its relevance to your golf swing and game.
My goal as a golf teaching professional has always been to help my clients better understand and improve their golf swing. To do this effectively, I have always felt it my responsibility to sometimes touch upon some delicate topics. In particular, a common discussion point I bring up with some of my female students relates to their chest, and how it might actually be getting in the way of their golf swing. While most of my peers agree the topic is germane, most simply will not talk about it with women students. Further, some female students simply are not comfortable discussing this issue unless with an LPGA or woman teaching professional.
Golf Swing Help: What You Need
Most golfers could use a little golf swing help. In fact, most golfers could use tips for the perfect step by step golf swing. Everything can change with the slightest alteration in angle or the tilt of the golf club. If you don't know how it all works and how to correct the problems you're seeing on the green, then you will never reach the point you really want to in your golf game. A good way to improve is to look for a golf swing trainer. Golf is a game that requires muscle memory and a good swing training aid can help you with that.
Exactly what is muscle memory? Well, if you look at a small child who is attempting to make a new shape with their hands, say a peace sign, they struggle with it. They don't know how to move their muscles into the right position. Once they've done it though, it's easier to repeat and each time they repeat it, it's even easier, until it is just second nature.
Muscle memory is what we use when we walk, run, jump, etc. It's also at work when you play golf. Every time you swing, you are reinforcing the memory that the muscles have and making it easier to redo the exact same thing. The problem is that most golfers have perfected a swing that has flaws.
Golf Etiquette - keeping the game enjoyable and maintaining the quality of the course
The game of golf is a game of honor and personal discipline. Golf is the only game where the individual will penalize themselves for violating a rule. There are also rules of behavior or etiquette that are designed to provide golfers the opportunity to truly enjoy the game.
With the emergence of Tiger Woods, the game of golf has become much more popular. There are new people picking up a golf club and heading out tothegolf courseeach and every day. Because of this, it is even more important to be aware of and to follow some basic rules of golf etiquette.
Golf etiquette should start the moment you arrive at the course and not end until you are headed for the ride home. Let's outline some of the things to remember so your next round will be more enjoyable.

Millions of golf instructional DVDs are sold every year, especially during the Holiday Season
Millions of golfers purchase golf instructional DVDs looking for that Holy Grail of the golf swing in their search of improvement and perfection.
I urge caution when it comes to attempting to learn the golf swing from a golf DVD. However, if this is your preferred method of instruction, I would like to suggest you consider something, and that is…when it comes to learning about motion, it is very difficult to learn on visual, static and auditory levels at the same time. This is exactly what golf instructional DVDs do, which ultimately serves to confuse and minimize their message.
Mixed, varied and often times inconsistent messages sum up why golf DVDs, while a good way to provide an overview of a particular swing method or theory, fall short on delivery of a quality message and often content when it comes to any type of effective instruction. While there is no substitute for hands on professional golf instruction, still, people seem to flock to golf DVDs for advice and wisdom when it comes to the golf swing. These ‘lessons on a disc’, generally wind up in a pile with similar golf DVDs collecting dust in a corner of your office or under the entertainment center in your den.
