You drive the ball down the fairway, play with fourteen clubs and yell FORE when your ball strays toward another player
By Pam Swensen
CEO of the Executive Women’s Golf Association
Golf is a game with its own language and traditions and offers four compelling reasons to take up the sport – fitness, fresh air, friendship and fun.
Think again if the mention of golf conjures up images of pot-bellied players in plaid pants. Studies show that golfers live longer and there are numerous health benefits for those who play the game (business golf included).
A study conducted by a Swedish medical university and published in a 2008 Scandinavian Journal of Medicine & Science in Sports shows the beneficial health effects of golf. Based on data from 300,000 Swedish golfers, the death rate amongst golfers is 40 percent lower than the rest of the population, which equates to an increased life expectancy of five years.
Take advantage of all the personal and professional benefits that golf and a national women’s group can bring.

So, you've been a member of your golf club for years now
You have become a regular participant in every tournament that is offered to you. You are really enjoying the social aspects of club membership and now somehow (you're not really sure how) you volunteered to head the awards committee. Screw this up and you can be sure you won't find yourself on the top of anyone's party invite list. Don't fear, here is an easy to follow guide on how to organize the task.
O.K., so where to begin? Let's start by taking inventory of the situation:
Today Golf Is Played By Most Executives And On The Course Is Where Networking Happens And Business Relationships Are Formed
Also, today there are women that fill these executive roles and many have started to playgolf for business purposes. Notably a womens' group of executives banded together and have thousands of members across the country in the Executive Womens Golf Association. Not too many years ago golf was primarily a men's sport and when women started taking over high positions in the work force, they did not consider playing business golf as part of their job. Most women that hold these jobs are very responsible people and they have felt their time was more productive in the office. (Interesting observation about priorities.) Today golf for women is more popular and the female executives realize the importance of the business relationships gained on the golf course.
No Golfer Can Afford To Ignore Golf Exercise And Fitness Programs Which Have Become Part And Parcel Of The Modern Golf Game
There are actually several reasons why it is good idea to pay attention to golf exercise and fitness.
Never before had the world witnessed such physically fit professional golfers who were involved in regular exercise programs and who played the game while in superior physical condition.
Admittedly this new breed of golfers went against the grain. For years the game of golf has been viewed as a luxurious leisure sport where correct golf technique was much more important than exercises and muscle conditioning.
