Empowerment begins the day you are willing to open your mind and reassess what you think you "know" for sure
Our beliefs are evolving all the time. We only "believe" we know "how life really is". We've been taught, even this is done usually unconsciously, to put ourselves down and to judge harshly almost everything we do.
It could be the way we dress, what we read, our career choices, how we look, our hair - even how we mother and raise our children. The list is never ending. There are many reasons why this happens. What I want to focus on here though is a major concept as to how to stop judgment in its tracks. It's called "self-acceptance".
Without an effective management system, which keeps your choices in alignment with your goals, your comfort zones and habits of thought will take over
That is why a personal management system is vital in achievement.
Chances are if you are like many Americans, you have started a diet or exercise program filled with good intentions, and then fallen off the wagon a few weeks later. Every year, fitness centers across the US are overwhelmed by new registrations in January from people who genuinely want to become physically fit. They have good intentions that are backed by New Year's resolutions, but by March, most of these new registrations have been cancelled.
Why are good intentions not enough to generate change?
If you find that you have difficulty speaking with emotion when addressing an audience, then your nervousness is in control and you are not
When that happens, it is not easy to allow for any expression in public speaking aside from the look of near death because you are allowing for your 'flight' response to have the upper hand instead of your 'fight' response.
We make public speaking more difficult than it really is because of the unknown. What could go wrong? Will you make a fool of yourself? Admittedly, if you are not prepared and have not rehearsed your material, then there is much more likelihood that your results will be less than ideal.
Wake up! Open the door to your best life
In "Winnie The Pooh," Christopher Robin has this encouraging advice for his favourite bear: "Promise me, you'll always remember you're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think."
We can all benefit from remembering that who we really are is so much more amazing than who we tell ourselves we are.
Have you seen the movie "Inception"? It's a thought-provoking exploration of how your reality may not be real at all, but may just be a dream. It's a reminder that you can literally and metaphorically wake up to your real self and your real life. All too often fear can trap us into an illusory dream which can feel real at the time, but really isn't. I believe the message in the film is that we don't need to stay imprisoned in the limiting, distorted, dream-like state of fear. It isn't true or real, and your real life is waiting for you to step into.
When you consider the meaning of the term "stepping up" in the figurative sense, it means to increase, improve and intensify
It means saying "yes" to propelling yourself and your business forward in a BIG WAY! If you want this to happen for you and your business, you need to understand the steps behind stepping up. You need to know the valuable key to staying motivated and excited. While it's not always a smooth process, each step you take will move you closer and closer to your ultimate goals...
