As a senior manager or executive, you are constantly faced with making difficult decisions
Most of the time, you can make tough decisions based on experience, on financial analysis of the situation, on input from a colleague or your boss, or even perhaps based on pure instinct. But once in a while - and this happens to us all as executives and women business owners - you are faced with a truly gut-wrenching decision that simply has to be made, and there does not seem to be any right or obvious choice anywhere you look.
Maybe you have been told by headquarters that you have to reduce your staff by 10%, and you are down to the last decision between two direct reports. Perhaps they have both been loyal employees of women owned businesses or well as male owned, and they both need the job. Both of them have families, and they are very much equal in terms of their experience and skills. The decision is all riding on you, which is one very lonely place to be. There is no financial analysis involved here; this is not about numbers. You may even experience sleepless nights as you grapple with your choice.
What does it mean to manifest what you want?
What was the first thing that popped into your mind? Was it 'to create, to come to be, to bring to reality?' Close. The definition is: 'clearly apparent to the sight or understanding!' Did you know that an infinite number of things are manifested every day? That's right! Each thought, each vibration, each feeling or belief manifests a response. Be it positive or negative, good or bad.
One of the most powerful things to understand about manifestation is that what comes to be in your life began with a thought, feeling or action by You. Compelling, isn't it? The wonderful person you met, the great new job with full benefits, or the perfect house with all of that closet space and the finished basement, all began with your thoughts. Did you pat yourself on the back? Go ahead. Please give credit where it is due!
On the other hand, the lack of funds, break-up, and business standstill are also of your making. How does one harness this powerful tool to create the things that are wanted, instead of the things that aren't? The answer is by becoming more in tune with your thoughts, feelings, situations, and actions. The more aware you are of where your thoughts are wandering to, the more control you will have over what is being manifested.
Do you know that you have the power to succeed at everything you do right now, this minute?
Are you surprised? Your thoughts control the actions that create your successes or failures. So if your thoughts are the foundation for success, if we spend some time focusing on the type of thoughts that are typically manifested and the ones that create success, you'll have the tools necessary for self-empowerment.
When it's time to try something new do you run right out and jump into it, confident that you are going to succeed with no doubts? Isn't that a wonderful picture? But unfortunately much of the population first has to contend with a little negative self-talk, a personal "gremlin" if you will. Are you familiar with the gremlin? Perhaps you know him or her by a different name. He or she sits waiting to shoot down our ideas, deflate our elation, and sabotage our plans ... when we allow it to happen.
Everyone does well when they can follow a recipe! So, I developed these 6 ingredients that are necessary to move through the fear
It's simple but powerful. Follow these 6 steps:
1. Notice your feelings
Don't analyze, criticize, judge, evaluate, or understand . . . just notice it. Noticing your feelings about this fear you undo several hooks that keep you tangled up.
2. Separate reality from imagination
Most fear is future what-if's and past should have's. What's fake about your fear? Don't avoid painful honesty - it feels good!
When did you last search for your voice? Was it MIA (missing in action)?
Having a voice is your birthright. This voice lives in your mind, your heart and your soul. It leads you to self discovery. Using your voice is the surest way to build connections, find solutions and live in truth. I want to hear your voice not a pseudo rendition of it. It helps me to understand and appreciate not only you but what you believe.
What happens when you don't find your voice? You don't join the conversation. A conversation that is important to women, children and society. A conversation that needs to have balance. A conversation that thrives on your ideas. Ignoring your voice leads to frustration - a continued fear of expression. Women who ignore or lose their voice stumble in achieving their goals. It leads to regret. The biggest fallout from losing your voice is not paving the way for young women to come.
