The lack of follow-through on commitments is a sure way to lose respect, damage your reputation, and disappoint yourself and others
Sometimes it can seem impossible to follow through, but if you don't your integrity will be questioned, and you will feel disappointed in yourself for not sticking to your promises.
Below are some ways you can increase your ability to keep your commitment:
1. Don't over schedule
Learn the art of saying no as well as yes. Take a moment when a new opportunity comes your way to look at your schedule, your desire, and whether taking on this new project is realistic for you. Saying no now is preferable and much more honorable, than taking on something you do not have time for, then having to back out later.
Self-discipline is the skill to get yourself to take action in spite of your emotional condition
It's about willpower, persistence and hard work. The pivotal point of self-discipline is when you make a conscious decision, it is virtually guaranteed that you will follow through with it. The self-disciplined person loses 20 pounds. The self-disciplined person runs the marathon. The self-disciplined person creates wealth. The self-disciplined person finds real love.
So, what's the big deal about something so powerful that it can overcome any addiction, destroy laziness, conquer destructive habits, and render self-doubt helpless? It's your ticket to attaining great success - in ANYTHING!
When you feel empowered you can accomplish anything you desire.
Empowerment for women doesn't mean you have to burn your bra or spit at the end of the bar. It doesn't mean you need to be aggressive or stare down the nearest competitor with vigor.
But there are a few things you can do to set yourself on the road to empowerment.
1. Value relationships where you are an equal. This applies to both personal and professional relationships especially as women owned businesses where you are respected and valued as a person for what you believe and the ideas you bring to the table.
Our successes lie in the arenas to which we commit our time, energy, money and love
I was never called to summon things with a flick of my wand or straddle a broomstick and take off for the dark side of the moon, but I was certainly interested in magic. Real magic. The kind of magic that transforms ordinary lives as they are lived here on earth.
Since I was a child I've been fascinated by stories about personal mastery and the transformations that are possible when we apply powerful principles. Being a writer, I was always particularly interested in the power of the word.
But all sacred teachings worth their salt come wrapped in mystery and symbology, and sometimes we're so impatiently ripping off the wrapping that we miss the essential teaching.
We are thirsty to study how we can use influence strategies with OUR minds, OUR emotions, and OUR desires
From Dale Carnegie to Robert Cialdini and Kevin Hogan, much information written on influence emerges from men. Even though the ideas and opinions they offer are valuable, women are yearning to know what influence tactics, negotiations, and language resonate for them.
We are thirsty to study how we can use influence strategies with OUR minds, OUR emotions, and OUR desires. A disconnect exists between what works for men and what works for women. Why shouldn't there be? I don't want to be a man. Do you?
