Ladies, If Image Matters, Do Not Ignore Your Voice

What I don't understand is, if men appreciate the value of possessing a dynamic speaking voice, why don't women?

I have spent the last few months questioning why my customers, as well as the subscribers to my newsletters, consist of 75% men and only 25% women. If you look at the picture objectively, we women often sound like ill-tuned violins. (And, it is certainly possible that this is one of the reasons men don't always listen to us!)

In researching voice training on the internet a few years ago, I discovered a few websites and forums offering ideas, information, and products for men who were interested in successfully attracting and pleasing women. Why these forums came up in my search is because they were talking about the value of a resonant speaking voice as a means of sounding more dynamic as well as a valuable means of bolstering their confidence. And, those forums were discussing my approach to voice improvement.

Stages of your business growth and predictability

Being predictable is often times a negative. It's not. For women owned businesses, being predictable can lead you to great success. For instance, if you discovered a formula that works why not use it every time? Now, being predictable isn't about staying the same year after year. It's about knowing which behaviors to exercise, once you've discovered their success, at each stage of business growth and even more so for women owned businesses. So, yes, you do incorporate and flexibility but there is room for predictable behavior that leads to major rewards.

The key is to learn how to use the information and knowledge to piece together the types of actions that can guarantee success in your business. Just as you grow, so does your business. There are comparatively predictable phases of growth. There are periods of distinct growth during times of no conflict or surprises. Growth also occurs at stages of troubled times when your business faces threats to survival.

The insidious workplace backstabber has got to be one of the most frustrating people we have to put up with!

They can spin wicked webs of emotional destruction, hunting down and trapping unwitting pawns in their incessantly evil games. Sometimes they can be overtly blunt, other times they're subtle and coy, gaining your trust and then turning the tables when you least expect it. They're a formidable force to be sure, but one that can be overcome if you stay calm and cool.

Here are a few tips for keeping your backbone straight when the backstabber is on the prowl.

Wear emotional garlic!

These emotional vampires seem to be able to smell your weaknesses, enabling them to easily target you. But you can fend them off by working on your weaknesses so you have more inner resolve. You must not take what they say personally. This is the crux of their style. They want to keep you unbalanced and intimidated. Stay confident and don't let on that they're rattling your chain.
